Geronimo Mateos workshop, apart from being a lutheria workshop itself, was, is and will remain a meeting place for many of our clients and friends. The relationship we have with them goes farther beyond the purely commercial.

Therefore is a pleasure to dedicate a section for who are part of this family and at the same time and, playing our guitars,are helping to ennoble our profession.

ANTONIO REYES (Flamenco guitar player)


Born in Barcelona in 1967, he started studing flamenco with
José Martínez Espejo, Ramón de Algeciras (Paco de Lucía´s brother),
Ignacio Flores and finally Andrés Batista


He has played with:
Rafael Riqueni: “Mi Tiempo”
Enrique de Melchor: “Cuatro Últimos discos”
Niña Pastori: “Entre dos Puertos”
José Menese: “Firme me Mantengo”
Rocío Jurado: “Rocío Siempre”
Lolita, Los del Río, Steve Norman, Paco Ortega and Isabel Montero among others.

 BAXTALO DROM is a band formed by Diego Araoz with musicians that share the interest and the pleasure for the sound and the style of the Quintet of the Hot Club Of France of Django Reinhardt that gave origin to the Gypsy Jazz. They recover old Jazz standards and compositions of authors like Django Reinhardt, Duke Ellington and includes versions of singers and guitarists like Oscar Aleman and Ella Fitzgerald...

Recorded at Geronimo Mateos workshop in January 2014.

JOSE ANTONIO LORIENTE

It has a solid musical training. Superior Grade Finished Guitar at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid.
Alongside his classical training has advanced studies of electric guitar, improvisation, Contemporary, Flamenco musical harmony and Informatic.
He has worked as a teacher for different music schools.
Associate professor in the Master of Music Therapy at the Autonomous University of Madrid.
Alongside his teaching, he has toured and collaborations with several groups and artists:
Orquesta Alcatraz, Raúl,  La década Prodigiosa, Piruchi Apo (Las hijas del sol), Hevia, Paulina Rubio,  María Isabel,  Los Mismos, Wall Big Band, Gisela, Bea, Natalia (O.T.), Pilar Bollero (junto a Jorge Pardo), Judith, Baxtalo Drom, Silvia Pantoja, a dos velas, Susana Cancer, Amistades Peligrosas, etc.

Guitarist on Broadway, Cats and Mamma Mia musical in Madrid.
Projects on various radio programs, tv programs and also work as a session guitarist in several Recording Studios.

He currently combines his artistic work with teaching at the Municipal School of Music in Fuenlabrada.
